ALTRA 100 takes place at the home of the Eight Wonder of the World – The Banaue Rice Terraces, also declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event offers 160km, 100k, 50k, 30k & 10k categories that coincides also with the annual Imbayah Festival, showcasing Ifugao’s cultural pride. 

Set on the best month to travel Ifugao to see the green terraces. ALTRA100 promises not only to make your eyes fulfilled with the “wow” sites, but to test your heart and mind to survive for the grueling challenges. With the inclusion of Mt. Amuyao, one of the top ten highest mountain in the Philippines and the highest point of Mountain Province, and some of the great rice terraces built more than 2000 years ago, ALTRA100 will surely one of a must run trail race not only by our local runners but also with the international athletes.

Now with the inclusion of one of Ifugao’s historic municipality, Mayoyao, to be part of the inaugural edition of 100M. Explore and experience the beautiful Ifugao by your own feet happening on April 27-29, 2018 at Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines.

Race Categories, Fees & Route description

100M – P8,000

COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • This is a 160K point to point trail race that will start at Awan-igid and ends at Banaue Hotel. Start time is 3PM of April 27, 2018.
  • Runners will first enter the mossy forest trails going Pula Village where the first Aid Station will be located.
  • After reaching Pula Village, runners will pass the beautiful rice terraces of the village while running through the rice puddies until they reach another majestic rice plantation at Cambulo Village. Trails are mostly downhills.
  • Next destination is the famous Batad Rice Terraces which are known to be the Amphitheater of Batad because of the unbelievable construction of the rice terraces with stone walls. Aid Station 2 is located at Batad Elementary School. Take the Top viewpoint going to the school.
  • Head on the steep ascend going Patpat Village. Then continuous descend to Habbang Bridge where the boundary of Banaue and Mayoyao is located for our AS3
  • Proceed to the trails going Mayoyao via Talboc – Epeng – Guinihon-Inwaloy trails. You will pass AS4 at Talboc. Once you reach Inwaloy Highway is our AS 5 and 1st drop-bag station.
  • Explore Mayoyao’s beautiful and historic landmarks. via Mt. Tumano’to (AS 6), Chumang (AS 7) and Mt. Nagchayan until you reach Mayoyao Municipal Hall, AS8
  • Proceed to Patyay Village via Magullon.
  • Patyay Village is our Aid Station 9. Be amazed with the big garden like Rice Terraces and the Ifugao traditional houses while trekking parallel to their river before ascending Mt. Amuyao, one of the top ten highest mountains of the Philippines.
  • Expect a sudden temperature drop at the summit of Mt. Amuyao. A radar station and antenna will be your reference at the top before you traverse it going the steep descend going to the town of Barlig in Mountain Province.
  • Barlig is where our Aid Station 10 will be located. Runners are expected to check-in and out before 15 Hours after the start of the race of 6PM. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Go back to Pula Village to complete the loop part of the course. Aid Station 11 is located at Pula. Just be careful since it will be dark during this section.
  • Take the trails you passed at the early part of the race when going back Awan-igid, where your drop-bags are located and our Aid Station 12. Runners are expected to check-in and out on or before 33 Hours or 12MN. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Get ready to climb Mt. Polis via Sitio Balat. Aid Station 13.
  • After this is a 9-KM descend to the town of Bokiawan at Hungduan, our Aid Station 14. Runners are expected to check-in and out at this area on or before 40 hours or 7AM of April 29. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Another 11-KM ascends to the last Aid Station at Amganad. you will pass the Magulon Hot Spring at Sitio Balawis before heading Amganad.
  • Finish Line at Banaue Hotel on or before 44 Hours or 11AM of April 29.

DROP BAGS – 100M

These are the drop bag stations for the 100M:
1. Mayoyao Municipal – Km 67.2 / 75.5
2. Barlig – Km 100.4
3. Awan-igid – Km 121.5
– Drop bags must be waterproof, sealed and properly labeled with your name & bib number. We will not accept thin plastic bags.
– Drop bag collection is between 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Banaue Hotel after the race briefing.

100K – P4,500

COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • This is a 100K loop and point to point trail race that will start at Awan-igid and ends at Banaue Hotel. Start time is 0300H or 3AM of April 28, 2018.
  • Runners will first enter the mossy forest trails going Pula Village where the first Aid Station will be located.
  • After reaching Pula Village, runners will pass the beautiful rice terraces of the village while running through the rice puddies until they reach another majestic rice plantation at Cambulo Village. Trails are mostly downhills.
  • Next destination is the famous Batad Rice Terraces which are known to be the Amphitheater of Batad because of the unbelievable construction of the rice terraces with stone walls. Aid Station 2 is located at Batad Elementary School. Take the Top viewpoint going to the school and go back using the Mid Viewpoint. Take the same trails you passed earlier going back to Cambulo Village.
  • Once you reach again Cambulo, cross the hanging bridge and take the trails going Patyay Village.
  • You will pass the rice puddies of Cambulo at the earlier part of this section. It is mandatory to use your trekking poles for your security since some part of the puddies are narrow and to avoid you from getting slip from it. After the rice puddies, a little river trekking and you will go up a steep ascent on a mossy forest. Once you reach the peak, you will pass the ridge and finally go down to Patyay Village.
  • Patyay Village is our Aid Station 3. Be amazed with the big garden like Rice Terraces and the Ifugao traditional houses while trekking parallel to their river before ascending Mt. Amuyao, one of the top ten highest mountains of the Philippines.

  • After this is a 9-KM descend to the town of Bokiawan at Hungduan, our Aid Station 8. Runners are expected to check-in and out at this area on or before 27 hours or 6AM of April 29. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Another 11-KM ascends to the last Aid Station at Amganad. you will pass the Magulon Hot Spring at Sitio Balawis before heading Amganad.
  • Finish Line at Banaue Hotel on or before 31 Hours or 10AM of April 29.

50K – P3,500

COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • This is a 50K out and back and point to point trail race that will start at Awan-igid and ends at Banaue Hotel. Start time is 0400H or 4AM of April 28, 2018.
  • Runners will first enter the mossy forest trails going Pula Village where the first Aid Station will be located. Take U-Turn going back Awan-igid.
  • Take the trails you passed at the early part of the race when going back Awan-igid for your Aid Station 2.
  • Get ready to climb Mt. Polis via Sitio Balat. Aid Station 3.
  • After this is a 9-KM descend to the town of Bokiawan at Hungduan, our Aid Station 4. Runners are expected to check-in and out at this area on or before 10 hours or 2PM. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Another 11-KM ascends to the last Aid Station at Amganad. you will pass the Magulon Hot Spring at Sitio Balawis before heading Amganad.
  • Finish Line at Banaue Hotel on or before 15 Hours or 7PM of April 28.

  • This is a 30.8 Km point-to-point course. Start at Awan-igid, 6 AM of 29th April 2018.
  • Runners will first climb Mt. Polis via Sitio Balat. Aid Station 1.
  • After this is a 9 Km descend to the town of Bokiawan in Hungduan, our Aid Station 2. Runners are expected to check-in/out at this area before 12 NN. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue with the race.
  • Another 11 Km going to the final Aid Station in Amganad. You will pass the Magulon Hot Spring at Sitio Balawis before heading Amganad.
  • Finish at Banaue Hotel before 3 PM of 28th April 2018.

  • This is a 9 Km out-and-back course. Start at Banaue Hotel, 6 AM of 29th April, 2018.
  • Run through the villages of Tam-an and Poitan before heading to Amganad where the aid station and turn-around point is located.
  • Go back to Tam-an and Poitan Village the same way and take the trails going up Banaue Hotel.
  • Finish at Banaue Hotel before 9 AM.
