Tanay has been the favorite playground for many people who always seek for some trail adventure, for cold waterfalls experience and for an over-looking sea of clouds escapade. In celebration of Tanay Adventure Camp’s sixth year and Tanay Hane Festival, team Conquer led by Benedict Menesis and in-cooperation with local tourism office of Tanay created Conquer Assault 50k challenge that showcase hidden beauty in the mountain range of Sierra Madre.

The Conquer Assault 50 race date was perfectly foster for Tanay HANE (Home of Adventure and Nature Experience) Festival  and TAC 6th year which feature different kinds of adventure events like Mountain bike endurance race, wall climbing activity, rappelling, cooking contest, Reggae concert (Saturday Night) and trail run all happened last Sept. 16-17, 2017. For trail participants, they enjoyed the live concert party in Reggae Music Genre that hype the Saturday night.

Conquer Assault 50 was composed of three (3) main race categories ranging 11k, 21k and 50k that covered the race route of Laiban falls, Dayapa rivers, sitio Tuyang, Sitio Bakbak, Sitio Tablon and Maysawa trails.

The race started exactly 12mn for 5ok ultra marathon category at Maharlika hall of Tanay Adventure Camp. It was a cool morning for gun start because of absence of rain which means great advantage for participants for minimal wet and mud trails. The gun start hype feels was very high because of excitement not only by the runners but also the crew and team mates that support during the event.

The Assault 50 is the Conquer Adventure Series finale. It’s the most challenging trail leg that highlight the most remote area and uphills of Sierra Madre mountain range. The trails used mostly are the trails utilized during the first edition of the series. But on last leg, it also  showcase with the inclusion of the recently exposed Laiban Falls and the Cordillera alike sea of clouds on 50k summit. The event not only featured trail running satisfaction but the chance also to capture the great panorama scenery which only experience in Tanay, Rizal.

The 2017 edition Champion of Conquer Assault 50k was Noy Gentoleo of Team Amihan with a time of (unofficial) 6hrs. and 25mins and Cheryll Navarro from Bataan.
