Altra Summits Challenge

Altra Summits Challenge is your running tour around Tanay starting from Barangay Cuyambay until Tanay Adventure Camp.  The race is happening on October 21-22, 2017 with 30K and 60K Categories to choose from.

Altra Summits Challenge

Altra Summits Challenge is a showcase of Tanay’s finest destinations from the mountains to the lowlands. It takes you to multiple summits, river crossings, waterfalls, and caves, among others.  The sights and attraction is a big bonus for trail runners.

Altra Summits Challenge is point to point trail race which will start at Brgy. Cuyambay and finish at Tanay Adventure Camp.  It has two categories with 30K and 60K, both happening on October 21-22, 2017.  Register and experience the sights and attractions that made Tanay among the top tourist haven in the country as well as a destination race for trail runners.

Categories

  • 1. SUMMITS CHALLENGE 60K:
    • ENTRY REQUIREMENT – Runners must have at least one (1) full-marathon (42k) or longer distance race (road or trail) within one (1) year before the race day. Results must be verifiable thru the internet. Must be eighteen (18) year old and above.
    • ASSEMBLY TIME: October 21, 2017, 2000H (8PM) – Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal
    • START: 2100H (9PM) – Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal
    • FINISH/ CUT-OFF TIME (18 HOURS): 1500H (3PM) – Tanay Adventure Camp
  • SUMMITS CHALLENGE 30K:
    • ENTRY REQUIREMENT – Runners must have at least one (1) half-marathon (21k) or longer distance race (road or trail) within one (1) year before the race day. Result must be verifiable thru the internet.
    • ASSEMBLY TIME: October 22, 2017 0430H (4:30AM) – Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal
    • START: 0530H (5:30AM) – Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal
    • FINISH/ CUT-OFF TIME (9 HOURS): 1430H (2:30PM) – Tanay Adventure Camp

HOW TO GET THERE (FROM MANILA):

  • Via Commute:
    • Tanay, Rizal is located 57 KM away from Manila. You have two (2) options coming from Manila:
      • Via Shaw Blvd:
        • Ride a jeep/ Van at EDSA Crossing (Jeep is 24H available). When you reach Tanay Market, ride a jeep bound to Brgy. Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal (first trip at 5AM, last trip at 10PM). At Sampaloc, either you go directly to Brgy Cuyambay or proceed to Tanay Adventure Camp, only 2KM away from Sampaloc. Lots of tricycle are waiting there. Tell the driver to bring you to Tanay Adventure Camp. A shuttle truck will bring you to the starting line from 5PM of October 21.
        • If you will go directly to Brgy. Cuyambay, ride a tricycle or jeep bound to Cogeo at Sampaloc jeepney station. Jeeps are usually waiting to fill all seats before leaving. Last trip of Jeep bound to Cogeo is 6PM. Tell the driver to bring you to Brgy Cuyambay jump-off. Ride a tricycle going to Brgy. Cuyambay.
      • Via Cogeo:
        • Ride a jeep bound to Sampaloc (First trip at 5AM/ Last trip at 6PM). Tell the driver to bring you to Brgy Cuyambay jump-off. Ride a tricycle going to Brgy. Cuyambay.
        • Or you may go first to Tanay Adventure Camp at Sampaloc, TAC is only 2KM away. Lots of tricycle are waiting there. Tell the driver to bring you to Tanay Adventure Camp. A shuttle truck will bring you to the starting line from 5PM of October 21.
      • Shuttle Trucks Schedule going Brgy. Cuyambay:
        • 1700H (5PM) and every hour until 2000H (8PM), Oct. 21 – for SUMMITS CHALLENGE 60KM
        • 0100H (1AM) and every hour until 0300H (3AM), Oct. 22 – for SUMMITS CHALLENGE 30KM
  • If you’re Traveling Via your Own Vehicle:
    • You can do either the Via Shaw Blvd or Cogeo Route. I suggest to park your vehicles at Tanay Adventure Camp since you will run a point to point race. Join others for a shuttle ride to the starting line.
  • If you’re travelling Via a Service Van for Hire:
    • Ask your driver to drop you to the starting line at Brgy. Cuyambay and wait you at Tanay Adventure Camp, Finish line.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Runners may choose:
    • Runners may avail the barracks type lodging, rooms, and nipa huts inside Tanay Adventure Camp at reasonable price with 50% discount (first come, first serve). Please call Ms. Alyssa Fabico (09090490973/ 09488094621) to reserve.
    • There are several hotels nearby Tanay Adventure Camp such as, Sampaloc Inn, Sierra Madre resort.
    • Runners may camp at the campsites available inside Tanay Adventure Camp. There are available tents for rent also at reasonable price.
    • You may camp also at Brgy. Cuyambay. Make sure to break camp 2 hours before the start of your race and leave your things at the baggage counter available at the starting line.
