Nat Geo Earth Day Run

Let’s Run for Mother Earth at the Nat Geo Earth Day Run on April 22, 2018 at SM Mall of Asia Grounds with 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K distances to choose from.

Nat Geo Earth Day Run is among the most anticipated and attended annual running event in the country with about 10,000 to 15,000 runners taking part in the event. Now on its 9th year, Nat Geo Earth Day Run is back on April 22, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds. The event coincides with the celebration of International Earth Day and would unite Eco-Warriors and Runners in preserving our environment.

National Geographic is expecting to see 15,000 runners joining the 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K categories. Nat Geo Earth Day Run 2018 together with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines, will partner again for the 6th time to officially commence the #NotPlastic campaign, which will tackle the country’s issue on single-use plastics that pollute oceans and threaten marine biodiversity.

“The Philippines has been identified as the third highest plastic polluter in the world. In response to this, the two organizations aim to increase awareness on plastic waste and push programs that focus on plastic waste management by utilizing the proceeds of the highly-anticipated annual run for the environment.” Said – Jose Angelito Palma, WWF President & CEO.

New Race, New Journey

Nat Geo Earth Day Run 2018 will present a lineup of exciting and meaningful activities participants can join. This year’s edition includes the Fun Run under the new 3K race category that encourages more Eco Warriors to participate and champion the environmental causes they believe in.

Elite runners registered in the 21K category can join a series of running clinics where experts will share warm-up and cool-down lessons, hydration and post-run exercises that will help runners prepare for the race. The running clinics will take place on March 5 and 7 and April 9 and 11 at Track 30th at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
